A word from the imam

You do not need to know anyone to walk in.

People ask whether they need to be a member, or dress a certain way, or already know how to pray. You do not. The door on Calderport Road has been open every day for thirty nine years and it stays open.

If it is your first time, come ten minutes before any prayer and ask for me by name. I will show you where to leave your shoes, where to wash, and where to stand. Nobody will mind if you get it wrong.

Roof and Minaret Restoration

The roof that held for forty years needs the next forty.

The minaret was repointed in 1998 and has not been touched since. This is the full restoration, costed by a surveyor, with the figures published to the community every quarter.
